A PRODUCER AND HIS WORTH AT NOBELHART & SCHMUTZIG
Wednesday, March 1, 2017, 7 pm
Remember that winemaker’s dinner that was all about the winemaker’s take on his own wine? Of course you do. We all do. Not this time. Instead of inviting a winemaker to Nobelhart & Schmutzig to get you drunk — that’s our job — we’re inviting someone far more important: the person who grows your food. We firmly believe in eating food made not by companies but by people. And the first step in buying food from real people is getting to know them. So on this night we’ve opened our pantry to David Peacock from Erdhof Seewalde.
David runs a small, Demeter-certified organic farm in Wustrow, on the Seewalde peninsula of the Mecklenburg Kleinseenplatte district between Berlin and Hamburg. Together with his wife Viola and four children, they raise a small herd of Angeln cattle, Maran chickens and Danish Protest pigs. Set deep in a protected rural landscape with fields and forests aplenty, his isolated farm benefits from a tremendous diversity of herbs, species and landscapes, giving each of his products its own distinctive terroir and taste!
·13 guests around one grand table at Nobelhart & Schmutzig.
·Micha Schäfer will cook using products from David Peacock.
·David Peacock will tell us his story.
·Johannes and Jule will get you drunk.
·Billy will deliver the bill.
